F65 PL Mount Issue - Repair/Parts Manual

I was wondering if anyone else has an issue with their F65 in which the PL lock doesn't turn entirely to the locked position due to being to tight, to accommodate the Lens mount?

I've tested with both the Zeiss Ultra Primes and the Cinealta 4k Primes. I have the same issue with both. I can see noticeable wear on the Plastic Body Cap as well, which further gives an indication that there isn't enough room to adequately lock.

How can I fix this issue? Can I do anything to correct this without having to send it in for adjustment via the Sony Service center? I was quoted at $1200 just for an assement...

Also, Is there a Parts/Repair Manual available anywhere online? I bought my camera second hand with less than 200H on it from Ljud & bildmedia camera rental in Sweden. I was told it was in impeccable condition, unfortunately that turned out not to be the case,
The VF slide plate was cracked in half separating the EVF from the mount, and although I was assured that the camera was insured through Fedex during transport... It turned out not to be... The Seller has "bailed out" of responsibility, so I'm now stuck with the repair costs..

Thanks!

I can't speak about the F65 specifically, but if it's still under warranty that's out of spec and you should have Sony make the repair/exchange.

If it's not under warranty, any competent camera technician in a rental house should be able to solve this for you via mount adjustment or machining the backside of the PL ears. If you are in Los Angeles Hot Rod Cameras can solve this for a nominal fee.

The F65 should take Sony lenses and Ultra primes easily. I have used the Sony lenses on mine and masters fit just fine so ultras should.

did you buy your camera direct or via a broker?

it sounds like something has happened to your camera, possibly a very large knock

Thanks for chiming in James. I made the mistake of buying from the international (Sweden based) rental House directly as opposed to going through the Broker. Incidentally,The camera was listed on FSJ international, though the seller ultimately preferred to go around the broker...
Should have been the first sign that something was Awry.. I paid via international bank transfer, with it in mind that the camera had shipped insured... unfortunately that turned out not to be the case.

Is Hot Rod Camera able to do a reasonably priced Tech assessment and adjustment without need of a Sony tech?

Thanks guys.

If it helps I doubt buying through FJS would have helped much.

I cannot speak to Hot Rod's tech department but Illya is incredibly knowledgeable, very friendly and definitely on the side of the little guy so do give him your business - it will be worth it.

What can help is a clear contract or written agreement of terms of sale and expected condition on receipt, and an escrow service. By using a third party escrow, you would have an inspection period upon delivery, and could reject, provide proof of return shipment, and the escrow service would refund your money to you when the item return is completed.

Sorry this happened to you.

I have similar problem once with my F35. But I think was the lens because only this lens has problem.
