F3 arrived? Post it up here!

lovely setup indeed, i imagine you've got some S-Log goodness as well?
No, I don't really need it on the project that I bought it for. All of it will be under control lighting and besides I am over budget ;-) and out money for more toys.
Maybe for my next project.

I'm having similar issues. I power the camera, KPM and EVF off the same AB plate with Hytron 140 batteries. Typically the KPM will shut off rather abruptly when the battery is about half gone and still showing 1 1/2 of run time. I'm using brand new AB batts and I've calculated my total power consumption to be something around 40-45 watts, so I'm not sure why the KPM is bailing on me. My HDCAM and DVCPRO HD cameras all pull about the same amount of power and run the batts to the end. It would seem that the voltage threshold on the KPM might be higher and that's what's causing it to quit.

+1 Me too.
I was trying to power the F3 and KPM off IDX Endura 10's (93Wh Li-ion) but the KPM will also shut off abruptly when the batteries are only down to around half capacity. And, don't even think of turning the F3 on after the KPM or it'll simply power down even with full batteries. So the order is... switch the F3 on first, then the KiPro, wait for it to boot (over a minute) and then see it freeze as it crashes with the media mounting error... and have to start over again. I'm fast going off the KPM and so are my clients!!!

If you are having an issue with your Ki Pro Mini I would strongly encourage you to contact AJA Technical Support for assistance. The support is provided free of charge Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm via phone or email. Please note that the AJA Technical Support department is closed this Monday Oct. 10th for observence of the holiday. It is pretty common to power a camera and the Ki Pro Mini from a single battery solution and it is done often with success. Perhaps there is some issue with your unit. If the unit is simply shutting down and not reporting "Low Battery" that might be the case. Again, don't hesitate to contact AJA Technical Support for guidance with this. If it's a fault with the unit, they will be happy to exchange it.Hope this is helpful,Jon ThornSenior Product ManagerAJA Video Systems, Inc.

I just used the ki pro, F3 and small HD DP4, and had the same issue. Had to run the F3 off BP60's to make it throught the day.

Fastest Sandisk's, as on the AJA KPM approved list.

I must say that AJA's support is first class and very helpful. For various different reasons (usually involving heat), I can't use the two KPM units I've tried and returned them both. However, because the service and technical support from AJA was so good, I'd have no hesitation in buying other products from them in the future. I think my days of being an "early adopter" on this type of kit are over... I'll let someone else sort all the issues first!

The KPM manual says it can't operate under 12 volts (seems like 13), most monitors can go down to about 7 volts. The F3 low voltage warning is at 11 volts (and it doesn't stop running then.)

I was shooting yesterday and noted that when the battery showed 2 out of 4 lights it was 13.5 volts. Your estimate of half a battery may be about right, so just swap out your batteries twice as often.
