F3 arrived? Post it up here!

Would I be correct to assume my EX1 batteries will work?

I see it has 4 pin xlr for power. is there an adapter for IDX type batteries with the cable and plug to go into the 4 pin xlr?

Thanks.

Thats how i power mine... i dont even have a sony battery.. :) But yes EX1/3 batteries will work.

Received it a few days ago ... I ordered a kit without the SONY lenses ... but my dealer was so generous to give me a set with the three Primes to play with ... 'we'll figure it out afterwards' he said. I love that man. After two days of playing with it ... I absolutely love the picture that comes out of this camera ... and the 'unpro' feature like the 'peakin' comes in so handy ...
Changing focus on 'actress' on medieval bridges in my hometown of Bruges ... appears as a 'band of black pixels' moving over the stones showing you exactly where your focus lays ...

I am planning to buy the Alura zooms ... but can't decide which one first ... the 85 SONY prime is a pleasure to work with shallow DOF ... while the 35 is a lot less obvious ... so as I originally planned to buy the 18-80 ALURA ... I now think the 45-250 might give me more 'fun' in the area of shallow DOF possibilities ...
... and yes the SxS card slot door is a bit clumsy ... the 8 assignable buttons are very handy ... such is the 'lock' on the ND positions ... and ... I saw the portable Dual Link HD-SDI SR recorder ... with a price tag of around 10 K ... that will make this unit a real nice competitor to the ALEXA ... and I prefer to spend the money 'in stages' ...

I'll post some some scree grabs after the week-end

Does yours go from the D-tap to the 4 pin XLR? I've seen those but I use the D-tap to power my Nano.

Or is yours an adapter from the male battery cable that makes it 4 pin XLR on the end? (That's what I think I need, and can't find.)

Hey Timur when do you think you will post some footage up? Would love to see something cinematic with actors talking or some type of action in the frame.

Answered my questions by going through the whole manual :) Gain works the same as the AF100, you pick three and that is what you access from the switch. However, there is an expanded view function that allows you to zoom in (I am assuming 1:1) for focusing AND peaking. Very nice. I also have to say, WOW, that is A LOT of adjustments you can customize for your scene files.

Timur, my rig seems to be similar to yours. Do you feel the tripod you have is appropriate or is it overkill? I'd love to have one, but may purchase a CAR instead! ;-)

Its appropriate cause I also have a cooke 18-100 zoom, its about 15lbs. Needs the support.
