AC130: Extra Mod to LCD Loupe on my cameras

Hi Guys
My original Hoodman loupe glued to a foam board riser used to be held against my LCD screen just using rubber bands and it was annoying when the whole thing shifted so you ended up always adjusting it as it moved around on the LCD.
What I have done is glued two extra side panels to the original foam board box and on the front made two slots exactly the same size as the edge of the LCD so it now slides on and doesn't move at all and I don't need any rubber bands too... !!!

With this the loupe stays in place very nicely...thought I would post a new pic so anyone who also uses one can update the mod....I cannot live without mine..the EVF is just too tiny to see anything properly!!!

Nice. . . What about external monitors along the lines of what Atomos has? Example Samurai (http://atomos.com/).

Do you thing these could replace the LCD/Viewfinder ? i.e. would we get the same functionality.

I agree with you about the viewfinder being tiny.

Sadly, although I would love to shoot with a huge monitor on the camera ..the major issue is still shooting outdoors!! Most of your shoots seem to be indoor choirs so a monitor on the handle would be awesome. I do outdoor weddings so sunlight becomes a problem..the loupe blocks out all light and you can use it anywhere BUT it's impractical on a tripod unless you have the camera up pretty high. Now, I normally have one cam on a tripod at weddings and one on my shoulder..I leave the loupe off the tripod mounted camera and yes I find focussing tricking with just the tiny EVF.... Hmmmm maybe an LCD on the handle with a decent sunscreen, however with the light usually behind you it's not too easy to see any LCD unless you go really old time and throw a cloth over your head!!! I'd love a big LCD on my 2nd camera but would have to see it easily in bright daylight so it still might need an eyepiece of some sort????? I dunno what the range of my loupe is but I WAS thinking about making a, say, 6" long extender for the LCD when the camera is on the tripod so it would come up around the height of the handle and you could easily use it!!
