External Microphone Problems

HI,

I am unable to get a connection with my external microphone on my dvx100a.

Input 1 is not working at all, and I can get a weak signal on Input 2.

So when using Input 2,
I made sure in the "Playback Functions" in the VCR Menu had "Audio Out" set to Ch 2.

I made sure the camera was set to Input 2 and not Input 1, INT (L) or INT (R). And that the Mic Power 48V was on for Input 2.

Although everything is set properly for Input 2, the levels are really low, even after I have set the levels to the maximum they come in weak.

I am in India shooting, and am not in an situation to get a new camera. Any help would be super appreciated!

Have you set the input switch on the front of the camera to Mic and not Line level?
