External LCD, tilting

Hi!

I'm looking for a simple external LCD monitor solution, so that focusing becomes much easier. A monitor that is small and can be mounted on the camera easily. I'd like to be able to tilt the LCD just like on the GH1.

What small LCD monitor do you recommend and how do I mount it to the camera?

Thanks

Are you looking to mount it to the camera itself or do you have some kind of rod support? I use a redrock shoulder mount and one of their micro mounts. The micro mount lets you tilt or turn the monitor in any direction and secure it.

Here how I have it set up

You would hook it up through the composite out. The hdmi monitors are a lot more expensive. I bought one of the cheapest monitors with hdmi and it was $500.

Editman, does that monitor work well for pulling focus?

It works better than the display on the camera even thou it's run from the composite.
But it's a cheap and most of all small solution which makes the whole setup small.

A HDMI 7" monitor is better no doubt but then you also have a larger rig.

My question on such a monitor is this: When hooked up to the camera, does it show what is in the viewfinder or what is on the lcd display? (They are different, because the lcd picture can be magnified with a button on the camera),

What is the actual viewing area on that 7 inch TFT-LCD hdmi monitor? The one in the picture shown earlier looks like not much larger than the camera lcd.

Also, is that TFT-LCD showing the 1920 x1080 resolution? Looks like it only shows it at 800x480...... if so, whats the point?

thanks
