Hi guys. I am wonder which external LCd do you use for your 60d. I am looking for one, because focusing on 3inch lcd is so hard for me. I am looking for something like 7 inches. I know that 60d doesn't have full hd on external monitor during recording but i think it would be more usefull to use external lcd. So I have couple questions.
1. If I buy external monitor the screen size will be streched to fill all monitor or it's gonna be small window on the screen
2. How do you guys figured out the power for external monitors. Many of them. like car's lcd, has 12v power so in the car it's no big deal, but how about cameras?
3. Would it be good only to make my screen bigger during recording: http://www.amazon.com/PLHR76-7-Inch...5HFS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1298232075&sr=8-1
If not maybe there is some lcd which can work with regular AA batteries or something like battery adapters, which can be fitted with some camcorders battery.

I don't want to spend $500 to get Full HD resolution, i need it only for focusing mainly.

This is the one I bought, but I shoot with a 7D. It arrived a week ago, and I am in love with it. It works great, does exactly what I wanted it to, and is well within most people's budgets.

I ordered mine with the 11" articulating arm and battery, which cost about $300 after shipping. Although I didn't order it, it even came with a sunhood.

The battery charger didn't work, so I emailed them, and they responded immediately. Within minutes they shipped out a replacement, which is on it's way now via DHL.

Shipping was great. Customer Service was great. And the monitor is exactly what I wanted. If you need a monitor for frame and focus, you should be happy with this, although I have no experience using it on a camera that downreses during recording like the 60D.

There are many, MANY other posts like mine, in case you needed reassurance that this isn't some Chinese scam.

The Lilliput is not much good for anything other than a 7D I'm afraid, I tried one on the 550D and the 480p output during record makes focusing really hard on the 7" monitor.
I have a smallHD DP1x arriving next week, going to see how that goes. I know it's bigger at nearly 9" but the in-built features should help counter the drop down.

Oh, really? That's too bad. I had heard from other users that it works just fine on the 5DII/60D, but I've never seen it or myself.

Good luck in your search, Kopan!

A more feature packed monitor shouldnt be much better than lilliput, as the camreas drop rez regardless of monitor brand , and most 7" monitors have similar actual pixel resolution.

BTW I have an 8" Lilliput for my T2i, and altho my monitor works very well on the 7D which we've tried a bit on a recent production, I have used an IKAN and it looked no better, as the drop in rez is a function of the camera and not the monitor. on the T2i it didn't really make a difference, both monitors look pretty much the same.
