I was trying this out on a friend's Panasonic GS120, and I couldn't seem to capture as I normally would. I use FCP 4.1. I had to set my capture setting to noncontrollable device in FCP and capture that way withouy being able to mark my in and out points. Was I doing something wrong?
All I want is to be able to search through the footage, mark in/out points and capture.[/quote]
Not every camera follows the entire FW-DV-VTR control standards, especially in small consumer cameras. It is generally a cost cutting issue since you can use a cheaper mechanism without capstan control and the like.
