C200: Extenders for CN-E 70-200mm T4..4

The manual of the CN-E 70-200mm indicates that the extenders EF1.4x III and EF2x III can be used. I own the type II extenders which I would like to use on my C200. Can type II extenders be used or do you really need type III? Please share your experience with type II or III extenders used on this lens.

You can use the type II extenders. They may not be as sharp or focus as fast as the type III. (The difference between them is just that type III are newer.)

I had a Canon 1.4x III which I used with the CN-E-70-200 and it worked great. No idea on ver II vs III but III had no issues at all. AF was fine and showed no slow down.

Thank you for your valuable input. To get the most out of my cine zoom I ordered the Type III extenders and will sell my Type II extenders.
