Hey, i watched this forum for a while now, i originally came here from Samuels Flaat Picture Style, but now i will do my first post here.
Have you ever had Problems setting up your shot using a flat picture style and/or in bright sunlight? About half a year ago i created a Picture Style for Canon DSLRs. But this is not to give you more DR or something like that. This is a simple tool, that helps you Exposing, Focusing and Whitebalancing your Footage.
And this is how it works: it sets all the Luma values to 128, expecting darkest and brightest 16, so you have a grey Picture, without Luma information, where your Picture is well exposed and you easily see dark and bright spots in your shot. You can set how aggresive this is by altering the contrast. I like to have mine all the way to 4.
Here are some Picture to give you an idea, how this works:
Also this boosts Saturation, so whitebalancing is no big issues anymore (look at the white paper on the keyboard):
Also it boosts Sharpening all the way to the top, resulting in ugly looking Artefacts. But these can be used to Focus: if you see ugly Halos around adges, than you are in Focus.
