GH4 Exposure Changes while using shutter realease button for focusing

I have been using blackmagic video Assist with GH4 for recording 10bit output, so this means I cannot use internal recording, that's OK, I don't need dual recording to save memory.
The issue is when I press half shutter release button for Quick focus, (which I trust its very accurate and faster then manual focus) it changes the exposure for focusing and this procedure is recorded in VA. Interestingly, this procedure (Exposure Change) does not happen while recording internally. It occurs only when its not been recorded.
So is there any way to get this feature off ?
I have noticed some features could be very helpful while recording external, like changing the crop mode on fly to give closer view, or change color profile, or pedestal and many more. But surely changing brightness while focusing, its annoying and the shot is unusable.
Please, GH user give me your input if you face the same problem or have solution.

I asked the exact same question about two weeks ago with a couple of hundred views and no answers. I hope the way you asked the question gets a better response. I see this on internal or external recording. On the Sony A7xx series it the "Live View Display" setting. This drives me nuts about the GH4 and will also do it during auto focus (like while using it on a gimbal).

Have you tried touch focusing? It is slower and more subtle than half press but I dont know if it changes exposure.

I've noticed this when recording internally as well, but it only seems to happen when light is low - I had assumed simply that the camera was increasing gain in order to get sufficient contrast to focus accurately. I wonder if turning constant preview off might cure it.

It does not happen internally when its recording, only happen when its in non record mode, but focuses well without exposure change.
Yes maybe increases gain to allow good contrast gain, but this does not happen while rec. & focus is well.

Until now there could be 2 ways, like vesku mention touch screen it works without changing exposure, but its very slow and not sure of focus accuracy, another way is to keep the Exposure level right on 0, so this will not change the Exposure, offcourse this has to be in manual mode for video.
I guess, GH4 or GH3 is trying guide us, that our Exposure level is not correctly set according to camera.

I've got a Production company's BMVA right now so tested your setup, & had the same issue. If recording internally too the issue disappears, but as you know, restricts the GH4's external output to 8-bit 4:2:2.
