FS7: Exposure aids in CineEI mode

Thanks to all who replied to my question about Alister's comments on the use of slog2 or slog3 in low light. And to moldcad (hope your issue with Catalyst is solved!). Beforehand, I think no one is attacking Alister. All the information he gave is useful. His point of view is very clear, not only by what he stated in the article I linked, but also in the video he made about the FS5. But others may have different real life experiences. Mine have been a little mixed and much more in favor of staying with slog3 in Cine EI and ISO 2000. What Ben, Morgan and others explained just confirmed me that in the end, if you expose slog properly with the native ISO of the camera, you will get better results due to the look of hypergammas/cinegammas. I appreciate their comments because they have a lot more knowledge and experience than me. If others have different opinions it is fine. Sorry, Doug, if I gave you a different impression. I can assure you it was not my intention, since I just wanted to hear the experiences of others just like I enjoy seeing yours.

I'd much rather pay attention to Alister Chappers than the stay at home cinematographers that frequent this forum. At least Alister has the temerity to be out 'getting the shot' while others spend their time making themselves look brilliant through forums posts.

In my few encounters with Alister I can attest he is a 'lovely guy' a very knowledgeable one too and one who retains his modesty.

Moldcad, I see you still buy cameras to talk about them.

Was that referring to me?

Was that referring to me?

Ben, I'm sure it was referring to me, and have already answer this. BTW, I'd say there also is a third group of posters: mainly coming here to criticize others, and start flames - which is pathetic, considering it takes their time and effort to post which they could use much better answering and helping those like myself...
