C100: Export Settings

Hi all,

I am interested to here peoples export settings for YouTube & Vimeo.

I am editing with Premiere and I export with a custom HD Vimeo Codec and change the level to 5.1 and dimensions to 1920x1080 and VBR 2 pass 10mps -40mps.
I notice the quality isn't the best. I have been reading its better to export via Pro Res LT maybe ?

What are peoples workflow to retain maximum quality?

I tried uploading a full ProResHQ file. Was about 6 GB. Took a while hoping I could squeeze every bit of quality into the upload. To my surprise...when I unloaded it, I decided to rip the file off youtube to study what they did in the "processing phase." They converted it to a 7MB FLV file. So a 6GB ProResHQ video got demolished into a 7MB flash file. That really really sucks. So I am thinking H264 from here on out.

If anyone has some secret sauce, please share.

Yes, I agree. I heard aswell for Vimeo and I have seen the larger the file for vimeo the heavier they compress. People export LT or go via handbrake. I find sometimes there are artifacts with Pro Res LT
