Dakota - All my videos seem to make people feel "not so good" afterwards. I'm starting to rethink this whole videomaking career path.
Manster - :'( and ;D and :-[
zMike - Glad you liked it. It was a spontaneous thought and video shoot so many things can be improved upon. So far the newer version is working much better than the original. I actually checked my camera settings this time (no shutter and no awb). Also, the pan is a better speed and will not make people sick or put them to sleep. Although, as always, I'm sure people will not feel so good after watching it.
Hey, just stumbled upon this thread... if you're still looking for a way to get a steady 360 degree pan, maybel you could try a direct drive turntable (one with high torque). Maybe the center post can even be replaced with a screw that would fit the DVX's tripod mount.
Hey antomic ,"What the Bleep Do We Know," is out. Go visist your nearest Borders or whoever you spend your money with. PK, I love take 2, that was ill!
I've been working on a project with a very similar effect. I had the same problem with getting smooth and consistant 365 degree pans.
The way I got around it was to rent a "turn table"- they use them on some commercial shoots to spin product. I had them put in a strong motor so I could get slow spins without it shaking and it solved the problem. Then put on a large top to hold the DVX.
It was an 80 dollar rental but it worked great and made getting the cuts much easier.
IT'S ALIVE!!!! Never thought I'd see this thread again.
Thanks for the compliments. Means a lot coming from you all. Again these were just the early experiments.
revolution and rook - Thanks for the tips. Wish I had access to a turn-table but there's nothing for hundreds of miles and $80 is almost a months salary.
