After seeing the first video listed below, the Newsshooter one, I got curious. It got me thinking how an FX6 might perform with one of MTF's eleven-year-old B4 to E-Mount adaptors. I've had two of these adaptors since the early FS7 days.
Hence, the experiment. I just stuck the camera out the edit suite window and it worked. Far better than I expected in regard to edge sharpness and contrast. I was also surprised how little CA was evident on fine branches against the sky. Overall, a better than expected result. I tried a couple of different B4 lenses. After retesting my results, I found that the CIZ needs to be set to 1.4 or 1.5 to totally eliminate any corner vignetting at all zoom lengths. Most of the vignetting tends to mainly show up at the wide end. This test was carried out with the CIZ set to 1.3.
Summing up. I will try this combo out sometime on a job that requires an ENG servo zoom type capability. If you are not familiar with the old MTF adaptor, the second video is Alister Chapman's review of the MTF from way back when the F3 was the new kid on the block.
