Hello,

I just went on BHphoto.com and go to see the EX3 and it says "accepting orders " not a regularly stocked item. Thats weird to me because I could have sworn I saw it said "IN STOCK" last week. Anyone purchase the EX3 from BH?

thanks

Abel Cine Tech in NY and LA carries them. I ordered and EX-1 from them and had it inside a weel. Yes, they are not as cheap as B&H (though Sony says it does fixed pricing) but the service is top notched and if you buy accessories they will probably discount them a bit.

Hey!

Yup! I ordered the EX3 from B&H about a month ago!

I went into the store to scope it out, and see if they had it in stock. They had it in the showroom, they did not have it in stock in the store.

I went back home, and ordered online from NJ. (Also so I wouldn't have to pay sales tax, but thats besides the point.)

It took about 1-2 weeks until they got it in stock, and shipped it over to my residence. Everything came extremely well packaged, and everything has been working great so far!

THOUGH A SIDE NOTE- For some reason, the sales staff there were VERY AGAINST promoting the EX3, and attempted to sell you numerous other cameras. They would not give clear information to alot of my questions, and just tried to avoid it all together.
Apparently, from what I understood from the entire experience, is that they don't profit off of it as much as the other cameras that they try to push on you. (Such as every other retail store with certain electronic products.)
Also very interesting how on their little reel showing what all of their cameras can shoot, it looks like they purposely made the EX3 look the worst. Every other camera got about 1 minute time of footage on the screen, in extremely well lit conditions, while the EX3 was given about 30 seconds, in dark shitty conditions.

So I was a little pissed about that.

But yes, when it says they are accepting orders, you can order the camera, and it should take about 1-2 weeks before they notify you that they have it in after they order it from Sony. Then it will be shipped over to you. That was my experience atleast!

Hope that was helpful!

I had a great experience with B&H in purchasing my EX3. Ordered it on a Sunday, had it to shoot with the following Thursday. Excellent staff. Terrific store.

I had a similar experience when shopping for my EX-1. The kept promoting the Panny line. The demo model EX-1 on the showroom floor was obviously missing a couple of buttons.

Hi Everyone,

I think Sony Japan miscalculated the demand in the U.S. against the recession.
We still have some PMW-EX1/EX3s available, all of our back orders have been covered plus our big order from one of our T.V. stations last week.

We're still running our specials (Mention that your a DVXUser Member)

Just out of interest, do you guys support international sales? Or do Sony restrict your sales to within the US?

There are some products that we are restricted to sell out of the country. That includes XDCAM EX, HD, HD422, SRW decks to name a few.

There's no problem on visiting the states and purchasing here. There is a New York State 8.375% sales tax, and I think it's supposed to go up to 8.7%. But talking to a lot of international buyers, it's still cheaper to to buy it in the U.S.

I'd prefer to deal with a friendly dealer such as yourself and save a few thousand at the same time, but for a flight to NY + sales tax I might as well buy it locally and get a two year local warranty. The only other option would be GlobalMediaPro. Their prices arn't bad, apparently they are trustable to buy from but just try to contact them! They don't have any email or even phone number on their web site. You feel like your buying of eBay... I have heard their customer service does sux even if you can get on to them so I doubt I'd trust them for a big ticket iteam (just don't seem to be in touch with their customers)
