EX1 with Broken Handle for sale

I have an EX1 with a broken handle for sale. The main body, lens and all circuit boards, covers ect... are in great shape. Top handle cover and main aluminum handle are broken, however internals of the top cover are good.

I can't be sure of the operation of the unit so it's an as is sale but the parts are in perfect shape. If you can get a new aluminum body and know your electronics this could be built back up quite easily.

I have pictures if your interested.

$1500 for everything.

Yes I'm asking $2000 for it Jay, I know it worked before we stripped the handle off however I'm being upfront, and I can't power up as it had the plastics taken off and most of the boards removed.

Will post pics today.

Wow, $2000 for a camera that can't be "powered up" and has had "most of the boards removed"?

Now that's a bargin!

EDIT: This thread was move to the "Market Place" after this response was posted.

Why has it been completely taken apart if the it's just the handle that was broken? Sounds a bit odd to me.

This is a bizarre sale item, lol. I'm sorry...

It doesn't make any sense as to why you can't power it up. Who cares if the exterior is missing, that doesn't have anything to do with the operation of the camera, unless somehow the EX is different from every other camera that's ever existed.

I can take the casing off of my HD monitor, but I can still plug the thing in. And if you took the plugs out and that's the only reason it's no longer functioning...why not plug them back in? Or just list the item as "for parts", which I'm guessing is what it really is.

You want the real truth, my brother tried to take it apart to see if he could replace the handle and buy a new one, then he found out it's attached to the aluminum body and everything would have to be pulled off. Thats a big job from what I can see. So I'm left with the camera taken apart and looking as it now does. I probably could plug the stuff back in but I'm not a camera guy and it sorta worries me if I mess up a plug or get something wrong then power it up.

Obviously you'll say it's already broken so why not try it, but i know it worked before he pulled it apart and I know the parts are still good. I'd part the thing out but again I don't have the know how or the desire to do so.

Call it a fixer or call it parts, really 6 and one half dozen depending on your plan for it. I figure if there is another broken EX1 out there in someone's hands they may be able to combine the two and have a nice camera out of it.

I'll lower it to $1500
