EX1 Price Drop - Again

Would you rather pay $6500 with the extra SxS card or pay $ 6099 and then buy tons of 16GB KsX at a fraction of the cost of one 8GB SxS ? This new lower pricing is far more advantageous to us.

I'd rather have the free card...... You need SxS cards to OverCrank......

I just got my 2 free 8gig SXS cards from Sony. (bought 2 EX3's)

Seems to be going the other way here in the UK. I just checked EX1 prices on two prominent UK Sony specialist dealers websites. 1 has increased the price by £200, the other by an astonishing £500 both plus tax.

Seems my decision to wait on the third XDCam was a good one. Prices continue to drop for US buyers. At least for a while, until expected hyper-inflation kicks in by mid '09.
In the meantime, I'm investing in studio upgrades, including new furniture and a new 48 channel mixing desk. By spring, if there is any new contract work involving video, we'll spring for another EX1. Maybe by then it will be down to $5499. :)

I wonder how many people are going to attend NAB 2009? I haven't heard anything new coming out from SONY yet, as far as XDCAM EX.
