EX-3 Anton Bauer Mount Question

I'm looking into getting the Anton Bauer Gold Mount for my ex-3, so I can put the Anton Bauer batteries onto my camera.

My question is (and if it's been asked before I apologize I couldn't find this question), how long does the battery last on the EX-3?

I'm shooting a feature length documentary soon and want to make sure we have enough batteries and power for the shoot.

Per manual, camera consumes aprox 13.5 watts. Divide the rating of the battery by 13.5. Hence, Dionic 90 will give you a little over 6 hours, less of course if you are also powering a light from it.

I think the BeBob adapter is far better than the Anton Bauer, even with its higher price. The AB just clips into the battery slot of the EX. The Bebob secures to the bottom shoulder pad screws and to the rear hot shoe for greater security. It also gives you another rear hot shoe to replace the one you've used to mount the adapter.

Available in both V mount or AB mount-- take your choice.

For Anton Bauer:

  • 12.75 hours - Dionic 180;
  • 10.00 hours - HyTron 140;
  • 7.00 hours - HyTron 100;
  • 6.33 hours - Dionic 90;
  • 6.00 hours - DHC;
  • 4.50 hours - ProPac/DIGITAL ProPac;
  • 3.50 hours - HyTron 50;
  • 3.25 hours - TrimPac/DIGITAL TrimPac.

Last week at the AB demo by Sol Comerchero scomerchero@antonbauer.com another battery bracket was shown made by somebody here in North America. It is not clear if AB will be distributing it or just providing information; it is more substantial then the AB one, and also allows for the battery mount to flip back, to work as a counterweight. If interested, shoot Sol a message for more information.
 
Guys I am looking at the Bebob Adapter and the PowerLok PLV-95.

Will this battery work with the Ex3 Sony charger?

I take it based on nsolz's sums that this will give me around 6 hours per battery?
