Everyone STOP!! What you are doing and look at this footage NOW!!!! AMAZING

"Amazing" wouldn't be my first choice of adjectives.
Looks well shot, but content wise, it's derivative and vague.

yeah i saw this a couple of days ago on planet5d i think. The footage is very well done and looks good. At first i thought it was a weird video invite to a wedding and it gave me a good idea for something similar but as a film... it didn't grab me.

Some nice shots but bollywood style... meh. They had money obviously. So impact is not as big but still its nice to see this kind of footage taken by DSLR.

Footage looks f'n great. Any idea what exact lenses were used?

And wiki and IMDB can both go suck some eggs - insanely hard to get on there (I am, but Lord what a battle and they only have half my movies).

Yeah, the guy makes pretty unique wedding videos. This is an engagement video for two of the people in the film. Just a way to make it more interesting than a bunch of candid shots at a couple scenic places, like more engagement videos. I'm sure it's not great as a film, but way more interesting than what most people get at their wedding. It could have used some more movement and quicker cuts on the chase footage though. Looks kinda slow.

He also did City of Lakes, which got a lot of attention a while back:

That is where I recognized "Pacific Pictures" from!!

They are popular for doing cinematic movie style weddings. I was expecting that first video to turn out to be a wedding as well.lol

In my opinion some of the best 5D footage i've seen. The cinematographer has very little control over the content of his frame sometimes in regards to story content, case in point any Michael Bay film. John Schwartzman ASC does beautiful work, but the story can sometimes be without merit. This footage looks great, on this small screen. Not sure how it would look on a 40ft cinema screen but really very nicely shot.

My apology on the thread I was just more shocked at the quality of the footage. Maybe the story is not the best or amazing, but I was just in awe at how beautiful the quality looks in my opinion.

At least for me this is a true inspiration.

I think some people aren't understanding what this is. It's an engagement video for two people getting married--but instead of being shot like a typical engagement video, they decided to make the real couple into characters in an action film. But I don't think this one will be like "City of Lakes" where the actual wedding is intercut into the narrative, so I guess it will stand on it's own as a narrative film more than that one did.

For an engagement video, I think it's pretty awesome. For a real action film, we'll see.

I thought the footage looked great and really loved the look of City of Lakes - this guy is talented. No need to apologize for the thread vision_films. It's always nice to see any lower budget camera, DSLR or otherwise, being put to such great use and reminding us all what can be achieved. Thanks also to JoeJitsu for posting the IPHONE film. Cool stuff.

yup, canon and panasonic could send them their new cams to test instead of to you know who.Cause this is where these cams we all want to see.

I think it's neat how this film is directed, written, produced, and DP'd by the same guy - only Rubber beats this guy out (the guy behind Rubber directed, wrote, produced, composed, DP'd, and even starred in if I'm not mistaken.)

And this really looks like a cinema film. The road chase scene could benefit from quicker angle changes or something to really give it a "faster" look (you can sort of tell that the vehicles are going slow), but other than that, it really looks stunning. However, I would tell the guy behind this to dim the harsh facial lights a bit, it really makes faces look *too* greasy and unnattractive. We want to get the idea that the characters are stressed, but not at the cost that they look horrible lol!

But this also may be an issue with the camera.
