Ever thought..

Make sure they really ARE females this time.

Brandon, I remember your post so well. I think you touched the entire board with it. I think it just goes to show..

Filmmakers are lonely son's of bitches.

( Don't you hate it when Youtube says 'Video not available in your country' then you get a 'Sexy Singles' pop up just to kick you in the teeth? )

If they would go for it, girls never go for me. I don't know why, cause I so poo pooing nice all the time...

That could be the problem. Girls say they want a nice guy but they go for the jerks. There is a fine line between being nice and being a doormat and you have to walk that line carefully.

I think guys that say they are too nice wind up being "only a friend" because that is all they attempt to be. You need to be sure of yourself. Biologically, a guy who knows what he wants and is generally secure will inherently be more attractive than a slacker. But that is beside the point.

There is no set method of getting a girl to like you. It's really more of a click thing. Be yourself. Talk about what you enjoy and know, but also be interested in her. Ask he questions, be interested in more than her body.

If you have something in common, that is all it really takes. And of course, the ability to make them laugh, make them feel good about themselves, all counts too. A lot of it is common sense. But half of the battle is getting up and saying something. And I am not talking about a pickup line....(they never work).

Of course that is only getting the talking going.

This is great advice. The problem is I am really nice, I make them laugh, I compliment them and they never think of me as any more than a friend. Another issue is most girls my age don't care about that as much as they care about a guy being "hot." I don't know, maybe we should be asking someone who has seen what I look like. :D Gage?

Making them laugh...good...complimenting them...bad. Good-natured teasing is better. And being unattractive doesn't mean you can't get chicks. Watch The Tao of Steve.

Wow, you seem pretty broken up about it!

Sadly, I've learned that girls don't want the nice guy. They want the bad boy that they can "fix." I've entered Friend Zone (FZ) more than I care to realize, but it's my own fault. Anyone who enters FZ, it's their fault too. EVERYONE has the potential to be more (until you reach the FZ, then you're screwed ... or, actually not), you just have to have the balls to do it (these aren't intended puns). Trust me.

I just can't avoid the FZ. I think "Oh, I'll choose someone I've been friends with for a while because I know her and I like her for who she is not just what she looks like." She might go on a date with me but when she finds out my true agenda it gets awkward for a while and then she just ignores the fact.

*sigh...*

Some of my close friends where "players", I got to know them from the inside, and the one consistent thing they seemed to have was confidence, thats all I saw no magic lines or fancy tricks.

Confidence is something that comes from ones self.. its ok to be happy with yourself, its not vanity its acceptance.

But there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance..

Confidence is definitely key. I avoid the "FZ" like the plague. I will admit, I used to fall into that unwanted zone many times, but it's all about your attitude and how you conduct yourself.

Back on topic though - it sucks when your relationship ends, but it happens. You really just gotta keep your head up, hang with your friends until you get back on your feet and jump back in the game as soon as you're ready.

Good luck,

Kegan

Along the lines of what Anhar said, I did this once.

When my dog & grandad died, i felt nothing but intense rage and emotion.

I turned it into Script that I think would create an amazing short. Yet still hasn't been made, 4 years on.

But still I agree with the point. It definitly takes your mind off things for a little while.
