Ever thought..

Along the lines of what Anhar said, I did this once.

When my dog & grandad died, i felt nothing but intense rage and emotion.

I turned it into Script that I think would create an amazing short. Yet still hasn't been made, 4 years on.

But still I agree with the point. It definitly takes your mind off things for a little while.

And then you come here and there's this thread, to remind you of it all. Well, at least you have company, yeah?

What? Girlfriend? Girls have diseases man. Most of my friends have contracted don't-party-no-more-itis from their girlfriends.

hah!

Nono... Friend zone isnt an issue for me... Friend zone is a problem if you arent up front and honest with women. If you like someone tell them, chicks did confidence....

;)

And No Terri, it wasnt that girl. That was a mess last year. This was a wonderful girl that i unexpectadly came across and fell for. Hard. You cant make someone be ready for a longterm relationship. She felt she needed space. So we are no longer a number.

Maybe someday again...

Really? That isn't a put off if a guy just says "You know what [first name], I really like you." ? When do you say that, on a date or what? And what if you are in the FZ, but you take her on a date to try and get yourself out of it?

Yeah, I need help...

Movie Suggestions for breaking up times:

1- Moulin Rouge

2- Once

3- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Back to topic :)

I remember Brandon's thread- it was a classic. You seem much more prolific now in your filmmaking, Brandon, since back then... This is what these things do to a filmmaker/creative/communicator: we get inspired. We have something else we want to share.

This is always something we can gain with these situations.

And confidence is important. You know, most of the time, its not you that chooses the girl, but the girl that chooses you. If a girl is interested in you, she'll pay attention to you. If she's not, she won't. It sounds basic, but, based on my own limited experience, it comes to this: Girls know what they want- if they want you, they let the door open, may it be with conversations, occasional encounters, availability forhanging out together... If they're not, they just cut you out. Of course, it is a "game"and you have to know how to play it... Else, its boring, for us, and for them!

Well its just... how you say it. ... you have to feel the right moment, be funny about it... dont look at her all serious like.. thats creepy.

I dunno man... you need to remeber that a person who doesnt know you will automatically assume youre pretty cool... It's up to you to keep that up, a good first impression goes along way. Dont forget the power of a smile and a positive attitude...

NEVER talk about your problems.....

I just can't avoid the FZ. I think "Oh, I'll choose someone I've been friends with for a while because I know her and I like her for who she is not just what she looks like." She might go on a date with me but when she finds out my true agenda it gets awkward for a while and then she just ignores the fact.

*sigh...*

Maybe you should ask your mom about the moves Mark Johnson was putting on her. You might learn a thing or two

If you are her friend to start with you've already messed up.

In the friend zone trying to get out goes one of two ways. 1) she liked you from the start too. 2) She won't talk to you again. 3) she laughs about it and you are fine (sans girlfriend).

Don't take her out to dinner and be like. Would you go out with me? I mean, wait for a moment. If you are having a great night. Nice dinner (ps. do NOT go the movie route) Movies are never good for first or first few dates. There is no interaction, no talking, maybe a hand-hold. But that's it.

Nice dinner, nice walk after. Good location. You are reading her body language and she looks interested. Might be time for the first kiss? Might not. Gotta read it right. If you don't - you get into the awkward, I just made a move and it failed deal.

Do not underestimate the power of the first kiss. Really, that if anything gets you out of the friend zone. Don't ask, but wait for a moment. Eyes lock, talking stops, can't turn away = moment. Her talking about her dog = bad moment.

Girls and women like men you take charge and are sure of themselves, yet gentle. Not all complimenty

Oh man, ain't that the truth. I tried the comp. route, and where did I get? That's right! F'n FZ! What a waste of 2 years. I did everything that SEEMED right, when in fact, if I just look back at the whole thing, I should have stuck to my guns, and left all the complimentary stuff out. She would have been interested if there was that bit of mystery, but I really wanted to be with her, so I became the schmuck. It sucked when I realized this. Then, after I told her I didn't want anything to do with her anymore (LOOONG story), I left her in the airport for her to catch her flight. She was sobbing as she walked away. As I turned, I smiled. I was free. I'll never know if she turned back to see me.

The kicker? She called a year or so later looking for someone to agree with her about something, and I told her she needed to grow up and stop being so petty. She paused, and asked me when I got "like this." I knew exactly when it was. It was when she gave me my balls back at the airport. I got a few more calls from her, wanting to see if we could work things out after that. I stopped answering.

Haha, maybe I should write a book...it would give me something to do when I am not shooting anything. Call it the Friend Zone and how to avoid it. And Dr. Phil show? :( That makes me sad.

And I actually did think of going into psychology, but I didn't want to go to school for that long - so film making it became.

But really, I can go on about this stuff forever. Lots of learning from experience, common sense stuff, and one of my ex's was a sex and relationship studies major. Haha. So that helped in many realms. Most of which are not safe for work.

Working on the film. TV show, eh...too early :)

And I am not bald thank you very much. Haha.

It would be interesting to write something. I doubt people would buy anything like that though.
