European bootcamp?

London would be great, but its probably one of the most expensive cities in Europe so I can also see thats its not at all the best option.

Of course, everyone will tell "My city is the best". But as far as I am concerned, I really see a lot of reasons for this to take place in Brussels.

1) Central location in Europe (that's one reason why it is the capital after all)
2) Very inexpensive (one of the cheapest european city to live in: I can find inexpensive accomodations including bed and breakfast type of lodging. Restaurants are all quite reasonable, and most important: Beer is delicious AND inexpensive)
3) Low cost flights from pretty much everywhere: eastern countries, Germany, the UK, France, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, etc...
4) International city: english is spoken everywhere nowadays.
5) I do have plenty of equipment available, including lights, steady-cam, chromaflex, studio (green room) facilities, classrooms (for a minimal fee), projectors... And I get up to 65% rebate for equipment rental: lights and grip...
6) Did I mention the beer yet? :)

The only inconvenience is that we miss the sun... pretty much like every city in northern-central europe. If sun is desired, then, IMHO, the next best choice would be Barcelona, in Spain, for it's got several of the above advantages (plus: sea, nice weather and hot chicks :)!

I agree with arkham, Brussels would be the best place in Europe.
And don't forget, it's about 200 km ( 120 miles ) from Amsterdam.

hehehe,
the european dilemma...
hm, I don´t think Barry or Jarred is watching this thread, they´re probably busy with the Alohacamp, but I would suggest a poll or sth...
maybe there´ll have to be two camps anyway?
BTW, how much does it cost in the states?

I'd say London because it the centre of everything! Har Har. Its expensive though. Failing that I'd go for Amsterdam.

What would the price be @ 40?

Europe is going to be more expensive for sure. I can't tell you how much. Jarred's the producer on these, but the flights, lodging and such. You get the picture. That said we are commited to these Bootcams being affordable and in line with what the camera costs. E.

We haven't even discussed this yet, but I would guess that a potential European BootCamp would be a two-day MegaBootCamp, like the Hawaii one will be. Flights will be expensive for all of the instructors, etc., but if we can get enough attendees there it might help spread out the costs. Truthfully though it's not really on the radar for us yet, as we're focusing on putting together our first MegaBootCamp in Hawaii. This one is going to be bigger and better than all the ones that came before it, and we're working hard to make the best experience we can.

The key is of course numbers. If we can get 40 people to sign up we'll go just about anywhere.

The KEY for potential takers is cost! :)

I'd be very interested if the costs were reasonable!

Maybe ask Pana which country sold the most HVXs yet...?
Or do a DVXuser pol...
As said, you could probably get more than enough people when "bundling" the Bootcamp with the IBC...
