Europe promotion ?

Thanks for helping out us Europeans, Jan.

I realise it looks a very good bag, and am hoping it will become my main bag as I still haven't found a bag solution I'm totally happy with.
And I'm very gratefull, don't get me wrong. I think it's a very generous offer.

But here in London, walking with a fancy Panasonic label on a bag like that through in Brixton? No thanks. Asking for trouble.

I can hear the sellers now "skunk, weed, HVX..."

I'd have to find a way to cover the label permanently as soon as I got it.
Which would be a shame on such a good bag....

You should move to Queens Park :-)

The promotion delay has not caused me a problem as I always saw it as a bonus whenever it came through. I've already promised the bag to another user from the Netherlands, but the battery will certainly be handy whenever it arrives.

Frankly I think it's an astonishing offer to their customers and is a rare gesture from such global companies so I fully applaud the sentiment - thank you Panny.

In regards to the promotion.
I think Panasonic have a lot to learn in regards to customer relations.
I was told that the delay was due to customs!
This would not happen in the states it’s too bigger a market.
I didn't expect a bag and a battery.
Nevertheless, keep us informed Panasonic, these are very expensive tools we have purchased so take us a little more seriously.

Kind regards

As i find all of my Pal Fellows here,

maybe i am allowed to lead you to one of my most important questions:

How to do the whole postproduction process with the HVX. SPECIALLY in PAL Countries!
Id be glad to hear from you guys how you handle this, i started a thread over here: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=59702

I am using the trial of edius right now (no Hd in pal yet), but i am really scared of doing the wehole post and cc thing, so i think we Pal-users should connect here and find the best solutions together!

p.s.sorry for hijacking this thread, but was just a great opportunity to reach you pal-fellows!

Wee, I got the battery today! and a letter from there KATA that wishes to apologize to all customers wating for the case. Also KATA and Panasonic regret that the delivery couldn't be synchronized.

Also it was more pictures of the case (in the letter), and it looks really nice and it fits an laptop in it aswell=). Hope it comes soon.
:)

whoa..

whoa..

... and then apple will release 720p 25 for fcp for free in the same package, and RED will throw in a free camera, and 3 tb harddiscs will cost 3 bucks and I just can't wait..

sorry guys, the heat is getting to me:kali:

Yes I got a free battery today as well, with the letter saying the Kata case would be along soon.

Looking at the Kata case pictures it looks well worth waiting for. Nicely designed with Panasonic DVCPRO Hd P2 logo on the side. Perfect to identify something of value for thieves! Seriously a great looking bag and I am looking forward to receiving it.

And thanks for that battery Panasonic. Needed! But why don't they last on camera like the Sony ones do?

Sort of a broad sweeping statement as Sony does not have a camera that even comes close to operating in the same way or having the same power requirements. I am finding that the battery lasts about 3 hours or so. I would think if you are in that ball park you are good to go, if you are experiencing less, you should have a servicer check it.

One thing many folks forget to do is to charge the internal battery of the camera and so maybe your internal battery is trying to charge from the battery in addition to operating the camera. Unfortunately this will not be ever enough do the trick. So using the AC adapter, plug the camera in overnight and leave the power off.

All the best,

Jan

I have to say that i am fine with the battery.
It leasts for 3 hours minimum, dont know if a sony goes for 24hours but i am fine with it...if we now get our Kata bags (went with my 5million pounds pelicase agin yesterday) we will never move from pana anymore...promised!

I've got the battery, and they sent me a preview of the bag that's to come. It looks really promising!

I had a call from TNT to say they had a package from Panasonic, but that it had been delivered to the wrong address! They would try and re-deliver the next day - that was a week ago!

We're in the same boat.
I've been on the road for a number of months.
So on my return l expected to find battery and letter.
However there was nothing.

I got a mail from Panna today; they "sent a battery and an apolgy letter for the delay of the bag". They posted the batter two weeks ago..

So, who knows, some day it´s here. And I try to think: it´s a gift, nothing I/we have ordered.

Two weeks is a while, but like you said you didn't order it.
I've been waiting for much longer. I didn't sign up for the the promotion but l think because l was one of the very first people in Norway to order the camera.
They sent me a letter saying they were sending the battery and bag. However, they said there was a delay due to customs?

I hope you get yours Martin.

Kind regards
