Hi,

This is a webseries I'm making with my friends since summer 2010. We're actually filming the fourth episode of the first season. And the first three episodes are availible on Youtube. They are in french, but we made some subtitled versions to able english speakers to understand the story instead of just watching the special effects.

The frists episodes were shot with a Sony HDR-HC5 (prehistorical stuff yeah), but the next ones will be made with the new Canon EOS 550D.

If you like paranormal series like Charmed, Heroes, Supernatural and what not, I'm sure you'll like this.

(No this wasn't made in france but in the french part of Canada, which is the Quebec province)
 
first episode...
watching it now and here's what I see IMO.

The bad:
The acting is bad
The editing is to harsh learn what an L and J cut is.
Some shots need to be cut down ; shorter for better effect.
Let the shots settle a bit before you let the music set the tone.
Cinematopgraphy is not the best but it did not bother me...framing was ok( some shots did though)
The acting is bad again. It looks to much like : Look I'm acting now ! Do you guys rehearse or is it improv ?

The story is missing something to make any good sense ....but did you see the Tourist ..same stuff :)
Get a tripod !

The good:
You've got a great backdrop.
You've got to admire you willpower !
I was somewhat entertained.
I do believe you can make it better.

It's just an opion !

Actually yeah we don't have texts and we don't rehearse. We just write the story's great lines and we improvize the dialogs when we're shooting. But since it's created a lot of problems for the shooting of the fourth episode, we plan to write some...About time XD

Since that we upgraded, we bought a new tripod and the Canon 550D so the quality is gonna kick-ass next time ^^

Zenith...I haven't come across this thread as yet. It may be some time before I can check it out as youtube isn't as convenient for me as vimeo.

However...

I see you've got 5 posts. Can you comment on some other threads here? There are many userfilms threads going on right now. I'm sure the other posters would love to hear your thoughts on their films too.
