Essential 7d Lenses

Any opinion on Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM (for the T2i, but it has the same sensor size as the 7D, right?) as a "normal" lens? It is rather slow, but users say that stabilization is quite good, and it is not overly expensive. Though for being so slow I would expect it to be in $200 range.

Got both lenses today... Here they both are at the exact same settings (aperture at 2.8), at their widest field of view:

Tamron at 17mm:

The difference is obviously pretty big... and I'm really happy with both lenses. I couldn't use my Tokina as a general usage lens, but it's going to give me really remarkable shots that will raise the bar for some productions.

Just ordered my7D should be here this week. im going to use my Nikon 50mm 1.8 prime.

Tokina seems like a good option. but i mainly will use it for Video as a B-cam next to my HMC150.

What r some other good Video lenses???

Nikon mount is not what you want.... The Canon mount is $200 more due to gouging, PAINFUL!

cant u buy the Tamron nikon mount lens and get an adaptor for the 7d and use it?

Or just import for Hong Kong/use eBay. I buy all my lenses that way, never came a cropper.

Gouging? Just compare UK with US prices. You say the 550D is $799, over here it's £799, even with the crap exchange rate it works out at about $1200, how'd you like to pay that!
