eSATA input on laptop, how to get A1footage into it

I'm thinking of buying a Sony Vaio VPCVEC25X/BI laptop that has no firewire ports but an eSATA port. This may be a naive question, but how do you get footage out from the XH-A1 into the laptop? Do you need an adaptor or special box?
