T2i Error No. 01

I got this error just 2 days after buying the cam: "Communications between the camera and lens is faulty. Clean the lens contacts". With a brand new Tamron 17-50 Di II f/2.8
I got it again after couple of weeks (no much use on it yet).
How can it be ? Both body and lens are basically brand new. Should I start to worry and bring it back ?
Anyone with the same experience ? Suggestions ?

Sorry to hear youre having trouble with that lens. It was on my buy list after the good reviews that I read .... then I read two more things which changed my mind.

The first is the contacts issue like you have.

The second is you have to take the lens apart to tighten up the wobble in the barrel after youve had it a while (someone did a you tube showing you how)



I guess you havent got to the second one yet.
 
Get yerself to a camera store and try a bunch of other lenses, canon lenses. You need to determine if the problem is with the camera or the tamron. My guess (as Moses said) is that the problems is likely to be with the tamron lens you own.
 
Thx guys .... I got also the Canon original 50mm 1.8 but haven't used much yet (couple of pics).
But should I get a replacement for the lens or live with it ?
