I've had my 7D for little over a year and no real problems.
This past weekend, I had a little family party and I was just shooting some stills when I got an ERR error. That's all it said, no numbers after, only ERR. And the LCD said something like: "Please turn off the camera and turn on." To that effect, but probably not verbatim.
I shut off the camera and the ERR was still displayed. I removed the battery, reinserted and it still was there. I removed the batter several times and it finally went away. In the next 15 minutes, the ERR error happened several times.
Then it went away all together and did not appear from then on. The camera worked fine for the rest of the day.
I was using a new Canon 100L Macro. But even after I switched lenses, the ERR was still there. But my hunch was it seemed might have been having problems with the Canon 100L, but can't say for sure.
Basically, my camera was working intermittently for about 15 minutes.
Has this happened to anyone before? I have a video shoot next week and I would hate to have the camera die then, so I want to be prepared. Should I be worried about my camera dying soon?
