funny, i've owned a dvx100 for quite some time now and this is not something i've ever even thought about. i was going through a bunch of unlabeled tapes and found a bunch with some unimportant garbage on them that i'd like to erase... can i do this with the DVX? like, is there an easy "erase" function that i don't see? or is this something i can do through FCP when the camera is connected via firewire? thanks for any information... cheers.

I never heard of erasing a tape.

Why even bother erasing tapes. They are so (relatively) cheap, just shelve it and use a new tape. Less problems in the future with clogged heads and drop-outs.
