FEATURE: Epitaph: Bread and Salt Feature film

Looking good man! We've just finished all our principle filming so we are heavily into Maya and After Effects at the moment. One thing you've sparked in me is I am going to do a night short. Everything we do is during the day, and given we work full time, man, there is a lot of night we could be using! :)

Shooting at night adds production value and you use the street lights. But you still may have to have an on camera light or something to light the faces and such sometime, but in a lot of places here there's well lit streets at night. Almost all our fights take place in alleys LOL. But you'd be suprised how good they look. Sometimes you get a little grain but not a lot.

Looks good Nate, lots of good stuff going on here and all over DVX! 2010 was good for DVX-ers.

Thanks. I'm looking into getting a banner for our Kickstarter, but they haven't gotten back to me about pricing. I'm really enjoying this project.

And how's the sound ?

And yes I keep asking.... weather you like it or not :-p

THE SOUND SUCKS! ALL DAY!!! IT COULDN'T GET WORSE!!!. Actually it's pretty good. We have to ADR the resturant scene, but we knew that going in. I thought about bringing the shotgun mic, that may have helped, but no matter what, I knew for "The Fourth Beast" that ADR would have to be done at that type of restaurant. I may even have to reshoot that scene anyway because one of my actresses seems to be iffy about the film. She didn't say that, but I think she has some issues that aren't film related and aren't issues I can resolve so I don't know what to do with that. If she's goes on then fine.

Looking good, Nate!

Thanks man. I'm trying.

Thanks. We're still only at $90 on the Kickstarter though. I don't have that many friends with money. LOL. But I'm going to keep working at it.

This looks like a very interested movie, cant wait to watch it. Are you planning to get these discs duplicated or replicated for film distribution? Might be a good idea. Keep up the good work!

Got our fifth backer! Still need $4860 to go! If you like the project give a bit, even if it's just a buck. http://kck.st/clghfq I've been working on some of the special effects and we want to bring in a celeb, even if it's not someone huge. If you haven't seen the video, please check it out.

"Working"? I don't know if that's the word for it. LOL. It's a good start. Will we reach the goal? With some help from our DVXUser friends, maybe.

Shooting Zombie Girl stuff this weekend. Friday is the scene where she is murdered by the Ripper Jack and Saturday we shoot all her scenes as Zombie Girl after she is bought back to life via Frank Stein Industries. We're talking a four hour long make up process so we're starting, like around 2:00pm. The rest of the shoot will happen later in the evening. Don't forget to check us out here: http://kck.st/clghfq and tell your friends. If you like this and want to help just drop in what you can. Even a buck will help. We've got 24 days to raise $4860. I think it can happen! We still have two fights to shoot and a bunch of dramatic scenes.

That Subway sponsorship must have been pretty costly.

J/k I have a few of those I have to figure out what to do with.. there was just now way to not get them in the shot.

The new batch looks great man! Starting to look like a blockbuster :)

Thanks. I finally finished some of the effects on this one, but there's a lot to do on this scene. I can only imagine what's going to happen when we do the big fight.

I know, it's crazy, I believe a Subway sign was in the last film and we had to dodge another one a few weeks ago when I was doing the fight with Arcus Fallen. But it's only there for a quick sec. (I hope). But I'm sure I can edit it out once I get down to the fine cutting.

Are you doing a 2.40 crop? That should take care of the sign. Just don't use that preset in AE. Instead, create a 2.40 comp for your movie: 1920x816. When you render from this, you'll have a unletterboxed 2.40 image for stills, and even vimeo. When you toss it to DVD, any letterboxing will be automatic

Love the new shots look great! I am sure someone will pick this up. Keep up the great work.

I believe they will too. It's a fun film.

Nope, I'm just going to stretch it a little bit and move the footage up. That's all.

Shooting the Zombie Girl scenes today. This should be fun. And there's snow on the ground so this should be fun.

^ I was just about to say I hope the weather here doesn't interfere with your shoot today.

Good luck.
