I think that's it. But an update to fix a bug should always be free, regardless of whether or not "extra feature" firmware is or isn't.

He's talking about the option to pay for SLOG. I can't stand people who complain about this, it's the same as buying a GL, GLS, or GT model of a car. You want it you pay for it, you don't want it you can still buy it,. get over it buddy...

Well, either way...RED has a habit of giving a lot away in their firmware updates...so at least they won't face that particular criticism.

im sure many many times sony, canon, panasonic have sat down and said ok lets make such and such a camera at such and such a price. - development ensues without the general public knowing what goes on. prices rise without us knowing so we have nothing to complain about. the camera is announced and released within 3 months and we all gripe at red because of a couple price increases over a 3 year development stage.

we only gripe at red because of how transparent they are.

Except in Panasonic's case, (AF-100) it came out CHEAPER then what they originally had said it would.
