EOS Utility Resolution over USB

I did some research but just couldn't find an answer. I'm wondering if it would help for focusing to use a laptop with the EOS Utility installed and the 7D connected to it over USB. What resolution will the USB feed have. Is it any better than the LCD of the 7D?
