Envision & RebeccaD Present "Where Silence Falls"

Yeah, he's shot 'Nip-Tuck', even DP'd & Steadicam for the 'Monk' series, some feature film work, etc. He moved up here from LA two years ago for a better place to raise his kids, and is looking for more local stuff that he doesn't have to travel for.

The short film sounded fun for him. Great for us! :thumbsup:
 
Well, I just finished reviewing Norm's script and I have to say I think it will be the worst film he's ever made...

just kidding :evil: I really like the story, it covers a very interesting subject that potentially affects a lot of people. I'm really excited that it appears to have been written to fit within the festival time restraints. Though I understand the desire to make longer projects, I don't think cutting a short version of a longer film has worked well for anyone who has tried in past festivals.

The characters in this project are very believable in how they deal with the situation they are faced with, and the script does a great job of ramping up the "drama" quickly, yet still believably.

Honestly, not to downplay his previous projects one bit, but I think this could be Norm's best outing yet. Not only is it well constructed, but it deals with a topic that will potentially affect many of us at one time or another.

Good job, looking forward to seeing this project.

I must say, after seeing the script, I am super excited about this as well, what a good premise and subject matter. Wow.

That's exceptional to have this quality of experience to DP this. Will he shoot your feature as well?

I have been working with Norm and his scripts for quite a while now. Not just his festival entries, but external projects as well. I guess you could say I am his unnofficial script consultant :)
 
Well, someday perhaps I will earn my way into this august inner circle. I shall endeavor to convince Norm that my perspicacity could be of use to him.
 
Did I misspell? I didn't think so but I don't have a spellcheck here. Perhaps I should have said my "perspicuous talents."
 
The secret to sounding like you know what Mark is talking about is going to Google.com and typing in:

"define: <mark's word>"

Then the wonder of the web makes it all come clear :grin:
 
Back when I was a young lawyer a friend gave me a book entitled "the superior person's guide to words" that was a tongue-in-cheek volume but it did have some amazingly cool words. I was hooked and since then I've particularly enjoyed trotting out big words to compensate for my dimunitive stature. One of my favorite things is to insult people with words they don't know. For instance, steatopygous .... means you have a big ass.
 
Wow... can I get one of those books? I do like big words like vindictive and vicarious and prevaricate
