Endeavor Winter Reel

Can you go over your responsibilities? Who does what? How many people work on your production team? These videos are always amazing to say the least. So I'm really curious to know who does what and what your back round is with film. Like if you studied film somewhere. Is there a graphics guy too on your team. Amazing, amazing, amazing.

sweet. looks like a lot of time and effort went into this reel and the work behind it.

how did you get the effect of the orange car smashing through the speakers towards the end?

i'm also curious to know, what's the average production budget for a majority of these music videos?

Endeavor Media is a two man team - myself and Steve. I produce and do some creative and Steve directs and usually edits.

As far as our background - we both went to school together and while in school took advantage of the free equipment to do some short films and music videos. One thing led to another and now we're doing this.

As far as graphics, we typically use our commercial rep (Animal). They are a production and post production house in Pittsburgh, PA. They have done alot of effect work and color correction work for our videos - although lately I have been doing the CC myself.

The orange car shot was a shoot we went to Vancouver, CA for. The effect company that did that was called Pied Piper - we worked with Kody Sabourin (he's done work on the Matrix, X-Men, etc). It was a great experience and a fun shoot.

I can't believe my HVX is capable of that.

or most of it.

Proves the fact that it's in the talent of the DP not the camera, in many cases.

well, WELL done man.

It's funny because i was looking on christopher sims page and then i talked to him about internships, and i thought that maybe if i was lucky i'd be going to be there for anberlin's new video since he's done their last two, but then exactly a month ago i found out that my favorite company endeavor was doing it. Which was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better. Dang, so i've been waiting in suspense for one whole month checking you guys' page everyday. And from your reel, i think it's defiantly going to be the best music video you guys have ever done.

So is there any news on where high res or low res will be released?

you guys are gonna be so big.

Dang, well thank you. Chris has been an inspiration for us for quite some time, so that really means alot to us.

As for the Anberlin video - i am not sure when it will be released. It's been finished for a week or two, so its up to the label when they send it out to premiere. keep checking the site :)

Terrific looking work! You guys do amazing looking stuff.

I'm curious as to what your set up was (ie. camera and adapter) on the Pillar "Everything" vid. It's got a really nice organic tone about it.

Haha the Pillar video. Thats REAL old. We actually shot that with the JVC HD100 Camera. Just for the record that camera SUCKS. compression sucked. workflow sucked. everything. That video was shot with stock lens. The only thing that camera had going for it was the lens was decent.

thanks though :)

Kholi Hicks introduced me to your reels last month and I absolutely love what you guys do! Keep it up and keep making the HVX look like the monster we all know it can be!

thanks for the quick reply Danny.

That's sorta the reason I asked - I guess it stood out as looking a little different (not in a bad way), just different. I thought that it may have been an HVX setting that you dialed in.

Regardless, I still really like that particular look in a retro sort of way.

again, you guys do terrific work!

Love the song choice. Cannot wait for the Anberlin video. Did you shoot that on RED?

Yea we shot that Red - Johnny Ching DP'd for Anberlin. It is premiering on Yahoo right now but the compression butchers the video. You can peep it here if you want. We'll release the quicktime later in the week probably.
