Pan & Zoom in Vegas 5

I use the Pan/Zoom feature quite a lot - but all I can do is a static zoom. I want to be able to either show a full screen and zoom into a pre-defined point, or vice versa, starting at a BCU zoom and then zooming out. Or I would loike to pan across a zoomed-in image.
I found a tutorial on this on the web. but I suspect it was for a later version of Vegas (mine's V5) because the opetions it mentions didn't seem to be available.:(

You would use keyframes in the pan/crop tool. That's available in all versions of Vegas.

Put a keyframe where you want the zoom to start. Slide ahead on the timeline to where you want the zoom to end, and zoom to the point where you want to zoom. It'll automatically create another keyframe.

I use this a lot WITH Vegas. . .Extremely easy, more options than with VV tools. . . .

Imaginate 2.0 from Canopus. Free demo also. Great for Ken Burns effects. Very powerful and a great time saver. I hope Canopus will cotinue to support this program even though they have been purchased by Grass Valley. . ..
