Enabling XLR and disabling on-board mic

I need to plug in an XLR cable from a mixer into the DVX to capture a direct audio feed.

1. What do I do to set it so the audio comes in from the XLR and not the on-board mic?

Put the XLR cable into input 2 and set both audio channel switches to input 2.

Make sure you set the mic input switch to LINE

YES! Switch to line or you could end up with a big repair bill!

I, too, have had that happen. It's best to ask the sound guy what sort of feed he's sending you.
