Emulsure.com BMX Web Video...

I recently created a new site by the name of Emulsure so please let us know what you think of the site too if possible.

This video was filmed on my 7D with a Canon 80-200mm f/2.8 lens. I can't wait for 2010 to start so i can get properly filming and taking photos again ;)

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone ;)

hey craig,

love the video and great slow mo! you and your friends are very talented riders. =) what type of fisheye was used? did you experience any vignetting? what other equipment was used(stabilization, support, etc)?

off topic: got my son a bmx bike for christmas...no pegs are on the front wheel. he has them in the rear though. is this essential? should i purchase pegs for the front wheel? thanks and keep up the good work!

Thanks boo ;)

Yes i was just using a Velbon DV7000 tripod for the stable shots and handheld with the fisheye. The fisheye is a Sigma 10mm and i have had no problems with it so far...

I bet your son is over the moon with a bmx bike for Christmas. I still get excited now when i get a new BMX and i'm 26 :p

In the regards of the pegs, it doesn't really matter too much as long as your son is having fun. Usually we run 2 pegs either on the left or right side of the bike but if your son is ok with 2 on the back then stay with that until he wants to move them around maybe.

I hope your son becomes the next Mat Hoffman ;)

Thanks for your kind words!

Stoked on this Craig good work! How do you find the sigma fish for keeping everything in shot etc? Is this shot all in 1080p or a mix of 720 50/60fps to?

So weird seeing bmxers hit up the same spots us skaters to like euston bank/lloyds/SOAS etc.

Thanks markhb. Much appreciated ;)

Sigma fish is 10mm so it gets mostly everything in. It is very wide, i think maybe 160 degree view on the 7D but not definite on that so don't hold me to it hehe!

It's all shot at 720p 60fps just so if i wanted to i could slomo any bits i wanted to.

Yes i think BMX has taken a leaf out of skate's book and tried more street rather than park. It's much more creative. Something new around every corner!

Thanks for your words mate ;)

That's absolutely awesome! Really well done (both video and actual bmx) - I didn't even know you could do stuff like that on bikes.

Kegan

Thanks a lot Hunter007 ;)

If you watch the X-Games BMX one year you will see that the riding in my video is nothing compared to what some people do on bikes. It's amazing to see the progression of the sport really!

Thanks again for your kind words!

One more thing, feeling the site mate, looks good simple but effective, to many sites these days are to crowded, its down to the point props.

Did you shoot using a custom picture style e.g. superflat, or was this all done on the standard setting? any grading/cc? cheers again.

Thanks markhb, i do tend to like the simple layout designs of sites and yes you are right. Too many sites try to cram in as much information as they can that you often miss the point they are trying to make!

I shot it all with standard settings and graded it with Magic Bullet looks in post.

Thanks again bro!
