Another reason this commercial works so well (in addition to the excellent score) is that the acting is good by all involved.

The guy looks SAD... not SCARED (as you'd expect in a collision). This is an important and admirable choice because had he held a look of fear, in slow-mo... the ad would have lost something... because all the actors' expressions are in sync... in delivering the proper message... not of the horror of a fatal collision, but the sadness of loss (that can be prevented).

Just something to take note of... not choosing the obvious emotion for a scene... but the more effective one.
 
I agree. The look of hopelessness and then relief is executed perfectly. Too much fear in their expressions might have made it almost comedic.

It's a good example of "I wouldn't change a thing." :)
 
I just saw this. I thought it deserved a bump. Actually, I was about to post the video myself. Good thing I found this thread on search and avoided the dreaded "Noob" moniker.
