Editing subforum?

Wish I were banned.
We have lots of postproduction subforums, but none are specifically for the art of editing. Pacing, timing, structure, eye-trace, etc.

What does everybody think?

I think there's too much potential for flame wars when you put editors together across platforms. As it is, a lot of those topics come up in the various NLE forums, but there are too many folks who like to argue the merits of their preferred NLE over others. AVID vs. FCP can get just about as nasty as RED vs. ______. They may both be great technologies, but there will be die-hards who can't understand why anyone would want to use something different.

This isn't something you can teach in a forum. You either have the gift or you don't.
Sorry, I have to call bullshit on that.

It's a craft. You can learn the basics and hone your skills. Some have more to work with than others and a better eye, some need continous feedback, some need to ask questions in order to understand what they're doing, some can read from a book and learn, some can only learn by doing and some watch what others do and can do themselves based on analysis alone.

But editing is not something only the Jedi can do.
