Editing DVCPRO HD in PremiereCS3/Mac

Hey Forum,

I've got a problem. I shot material with the HVX in DVCPRO HD
and want to edit it with Premiere CS3 Running on Mac OS 10.4.10.

I'm trying the Raylight way, but I got problems:
(I'm using the Demo right now)
If I put my MXFs through Raylight it processes them
and I get the Link files. When I'm trying to play these
with quicktime, the output picture is only white.
When I try to import them into Premiere it says something about
the missing codec.
I've tried installing Medie100s DVCPRO codec, Avids
and (after some search in the net) Apples DVCPROHDcodec.component.

Still not working ... maybe I'm doing something wrong while "installing" the codecs
Or they need to be placed somwhere different for premiere, or the versions i got are flawed?

Any suggestions?
I need to edit the stuff NOW and it NEEDS TO BE DONE with Premiere,
so "use FCS" is out of the way ... the solutions should be much more expensive than raylight (avout 100 bucks) OR best SHOULD be the raylight solution but WORKING.

I'm really going nuts here, so thanx a lot for your help.

Ben.

It doesn't work with the DVCProHD codecs installed by FCP.

No way around it currently.

Raylight even requires that.

FCS might be out of the way, but it's the only way.

Where had you read the Premiere CS3 Mac supports the DVCProHD codec?

There is an upgrade in the works, but Adobe hasn't supplied a standalone codec for DVCProHD.

I know that Premiere does NOT support DVCpro HD natviley,
but raylight (for mac) is supposed to get things working with CS3
IF the Apple DVCPRO HD Codec is installed.

The codec is installed but still quicktime states (when opening the
link file created by raylight) that no fitting codec is installed and the picture stay white (even though the length and resolution is correctly stated)

Did you install the DVCProHD codecs FROM THE FINAL CUT PRO INSTALL DISC?

And do you have all six DVCProHD codec packages installed?

Which version of FCS do you have licensed?

follow the instructructions carefully.
when you setup CS3, raylight has to be the renderer, use the raylight avi's not DVC PRO HD. you only need third party codecs for SD DVCPRO50. use the custom setting to setup your image resolution. once you install raylight you can just drag and drop the mxf files into premiere. thats it.

If you're on an Intel Mac make sure you have at least version 1.2 of the codec,
older versions may not support the Intel processor. If the codec came from
an install disk of FCP 5.0 (codec version 1.1) for example, it won't work on an Intel mac.

The OP is using a Macintosh, not a PC.

How can one find the updated version of the DVCPROHDcodec.component file? I've got the 1.1 version on a mac pro. Also, what does one do with it to make it work?

I think apple is offering an update for the component on the HP, or you need to have a version of Final Cut that delivers with the 1.2 or higher or know someone who owns it.

My Problem is solved ... unbelievable: I had the data on an NTFS formated drive from my windows days, as soon as i copied them to a fat32 or hpfs formated drive everything worked.

Use your FCP 6.0.1 install discs.

That's the update version of all six components.

There isn't another way to do this because Apple is supplying the DVCProHD codec as part of its Final Cut Pro/Studio package on the Mac.
