Editing 7d files on laptop with SU7300 Core 2 Duo Processor using Premiere CS5?

not going to lie, that laptop is pretty skimpy.

laptops in general arent good editing platforms. i would know, im using one right now. the only things that might be a problem is that your processor speed is slow. very.

for 600 you can get a decent desktop. but u cant, your going to have to encode all the files before you can edit. search mpeg streamclip 7d
 
When Adobe made cs5 they never took in account the current laptops , even the newer i7 laptops CS5 wants ram and lots of it and Graphix card min 1gig with Cuda to get the MPE working. It may worth looking at Adobe PRE8 or Canopus Edius 5.5 or Edius Neo with booster pack. Edius is not Ram dependent .

I have seen some threads on other forum s where there are people using older Quad cores (6600 ) 6six ram (1600) with the hack done to gts 240 card 1gig and standard Sata Raid 0, and they are getting 3 video layer on CS5.
What are you running currently ? ,I just received my 550d last night and shot some footage this moring even though my 550d was not setup the test on CS4 today and was very happy with the results.
