Editing 720pN footage, need to downconvert to MiniDV

Hey guys. I'm editing a documentary in 720pn which is due on Friday, but it needs to be on MiniDV tape. What's the best option to use here that would retain the most quality from the HD source? Compressor (ie, downconverting in compressor to NSTC DV Anamorphic?)? Going directly to tape from the HD sequence in Final Cut? What do you guys do?

I have been just dubbing it in camera. I know it's not the best downconversion but it's just been for off-lines anyway so it has worked out well.

If I were to have a MiniDV finished show and was looking for optimal quality, I would rent a DVCAM deck with SDI input and hook it up to my Kona 3's breakout box. Nothing like real time optimal quality downconversion. If I wasn't so lucky to have a Kona 3, I would export a ref movie in FCP to Compressor. The new Compressor in FCS2 kicks rump.

Hey guys. I tried the dropping in DV NSTC timeline, which worked out pretty well. I have another problem now, however. My producer just played it back on a projector and the DV tape deck seems to be squishing the 16:9 ratio into 4:3. Any solutions on how to make a 720p24pN project 4:3 Letterbox without cropping any details?
