hey,
i`m interested in the xl2's 16x9 with progressive feature and was wondering which editing apps support this combination?
if non, what would be the best solution for editing this footage?
Which plug-in you guys use for slowmotion, is Re:Timer still the best?
cheers to all,
- Ted

Re: Editing 25p Widescreen

well you can almost edit it on every type of DV edit program. mainly because.

The picture is stored like a 4:3 50i picture. The only difference is that the file tells the computer that its a 16:9 25p picture.

So just edit it and then use a program like TMPGenc were you can sett the settings for the orginal picture that it is a 16:9 25p.

Re: Editing 25p Widescreen

well,
i use editionDV 5.5, anyone has experience editing anamorph footage with it?
@MovieSwede: so i might have to edit the footage stretched to 4:3, and than have to use a DVD programm to make a 16:9 DVD?
Do AE or Combustion offer a 16x9 25p setting, so if i want to colorcorrect i can at least see the widescreen picture?
Does all this 4:3 50i @ 16:9 25p storing, displaying, rendering affect quality?
since i will edit my project, do some post in AE/C3 (depends on who i can convince to do it...) and than go straight to DVD, how do i get the best result?
It will only be a minute or so long, how can i use the DVDs 4,7 gig the best? :-/
Thanks for all replies!

Re: Editing 25p Widescreen

Well I using the anamorf adapter so the program doesnt know that its 25P 16:9. So just edit it, then when you make the DVD you tell it that it is a 16:9 25P picture. It will not effect quality because its the widescreen TV that does the strecthing not the DVD player. It just tells the TV that its a 16:9 movie. And if you use normal cables it gonna show it in 50i anyway because all standard TVs are just 50i. You need a progressive DVD player and a projector, plasma, monitor etc. if you want to se a 25p picture as it should be seen. But even if you watch on a standard tv you will se that its 25p. It just shows the 25 frames i bit different.
