Edit Panasonic HDC SD99 1080/50p AVCHD on iMovie 11?

Hello everyone,
I bought a Panasonic Camcorder (Panasonic HDC SD99) and i want to cut the videos with iMovie '11. For the best result i want to use 1080/50p recording. And now my Questions:

Is this Panasonic Camcorder supported by iMovie? If not, how can I import my videos to iMovie 11?

After editing with iMovie i want to burn the files to DVD or better BD. Or maybe i stream it to my WDTV HD in Living room.

Hope my Questions are not too stupid for you because i'm a beginner! ;-)

iMovie does not directly support that camcorder, particularly if you shoot 50p.

Blu-ray will not take 1080p/50. You'll need to shoot either 1080i/25 or 720p/50.

iMovie doesn't support native AVCHD files directly. If you want to import AVCHD mts files, you need a converter like aunsoft to transcode MTS files to iMovie MOV with AIC codec for iMoive. AIC codec can keep the picture quality at max.

For burning DVD, juse use free attached burning tool iDVD to complete this task. To burn BD disc, nero or Toast 10 would be a good choice.
