Since all the Edelkrone videos use Canon DSLRs, thought it might be a bit refreshing to see a different cam on it!

Thanks for the review. That rig looks nice. I really like the camcorder ergos on it. Price doesn't seem too bad also considering the solid build. Too bad about some of the fit and finish issues. I'm sure they will be improved on.

Thanks for the review Edwin; I just ordered the Modula 5 and their new FF, however I was wondering how the Tekkeon battery is working out for you? I have the DP4, as well, and am looking at solutions to powering both my GH2 and the DP4 for extended periods; I do have the Sony backplate for the DP4, and have access to Sony L batts, but would rather have one power source if possible. Is the Tekkeon powering just your GH2, or have you tried powering both the GH2 and DP4? I imagine both have different voltage requirements so that may be a no go. Just thought I'd ask.

Thanks,

Dean

Sorry for the late reply. Tekkeon battery is great little gadget. Can power almost bloody everything.
But it only has one output. The other is actually a 5v USB so it won't work for you. And yes, GH2 is 8.4v and DP4 is 12v

Don't suppose you can think of a way to add rails on to the Modula 3?

Although I don't have this rig (which looks fantastic) I do have the Tekkeon battery. Here's a link to a post in a thread (which has tons of information on powering GH2s) on the Tekkeon:

It's certainly possible. Edelkrone sells a rail mount accessory but it's rather expensive. I already had a cheapy Chinese version so that's why I didn't order the Modula 5. Does the same job.

Thanks for the info guys; Just received the Modula 5 this week and so far I've been very impressed with its build quality and versatility. Managed to mount my Sound Devices Mix Pre D directly under my DP4 and things seem to be rock solid. Not the most comfortable shoulder rig out there, but its scalability in that it can accommodate larger prosumer cameras and not just DSLRs, as well its monitor mount sold me. Looking forward to when their FocusOne ships.
