Edelkrone - interesting new DSLR rig

I believe they said between $1100 and $1300, but the price is still being determined, I think. I've got a video Luis and I shot at NAB, and I'll try to get that up later tonight. But I have to say, the Edelkrone rig was one of the show highlights for me. Very cool.

You guys know Handy Film Tools right? Handy Film Tools recieved Top Marks for their Rigs. They are the same people.
They changed names because someone bought the company, or a big part of it and wanted a name change.

Thats why they are and look so great..

@Stephen Thanks for throwing this up. I really wanted to see it in action. Any word on the DSLR transformer guy?

@Phil There's surprisingly little information about this latest line of rigs. Hard pricing just isnt out there and they come out in like 2 weeks.

Yeah, I dont know much about the new line of rigs, all I know is that they adopted loads from their old rigs when they were producing under the name: "Handy Film Tools"

Thanks for posting Stephen! Any infos about the smaller collapsable rig? How much will it cost?

Found another video from NAB, but it's only about the bigger rig as well...

I was told $430 + $30 for shipping to us. It was a little clunky to me but still a cool design nonetheless. What I was fiddling with was still a prototype so maybe the production model is more solid. I really wish the rods were threaded on both ends so you can extend them for longer lenses.

Thank you very much!

guys, unless you can throw some serious doe on a rig, edelkrone is probably not the best of options. It is good though that companies like edelkrone innovate and take a different approach to shoulder mounting/rigging, but I'm not sure how many people will shell out 3000$ for a rig and that's excluding any tax or shipping from turkey:). Ok, zacuto type customers for sure but hungry students and freelancers like me... nope.

With this company, (and I speak from years of experience, Handy35, Handy film tools) Your not just paying for the item (rig) Your paying for customer service, fast shipping, tech support, quality, Amazingly adaptable rigs, LIFETIME WARRANTY. Who does that, no other company I have seen that makes rigs. I admit I may be biased, But it's because of how they have treated me over the years that makes be Biased. Edelkrone, is at the top when it comes to rigs, period. The owner (Kadir), is a fantastic filmmaker himself, so it's not some fat engineer sitting on his butt thinking of silly designes that look cool, but are not very functionable, Kadir designs his rigs around real shooting scenarios, and what will make the most effective configuration given the situation. He's truely miles ahead of the comp.

Yes, the design in many aspects are ingenious but the pricing of their new rigs really high and matches that of Zacuto's rigs. If many of the Zacuto-type customers already owns some Zacuto rigs, how many of them are willing to pay high price for a new and expensive rig?
