I wasn't sure if this would fit and I'd end up returning it and going for a Zacuto Axis.

However, I'm very impressed with the quality. It's solid and reassuringly chunky, without adding significant weight. It won't clear the left side of XLR bridge, but it's reaching every angle I'd want and, at £105 from proav.co.uk, it's less than the third of the price of the Axis.

Will update further down the line, when it's had some proper abuse, but nothing concerns me at the mo - I think this one's a keeper and will just become part of the standard kit.

i had most products that Edelkrone produce and EVF holder is the one that u can trust 100%, i sold everything else from edelkrone, but still use EVF holder: great idea, cheap and simple to use! i used it with Small HD DP1X 9` monitor - and its still works and holds it no problems!!!

It mounts to the hotshoe so would work without the handle. I was considering buying it myself and had asked Edelkrone.

Can you mount it to the 1/4 hole at the back of the handle or is it just a hotshoe job?

It's a coldshoe mount, so you'd need a fairly robust 1/4 adapter.

Looks like you might otherwise be able to swap the front coldshoe with the rear 1/4 plate - haven't tried it, but a quick check with a ruler suggests they might have the same pitch/layout.
