I don't think anybody reads the spyfest threads anymore so I'll post this in here too:

**best if viewed with headphones or good speakers**

for anyone who still looks at the spyfest thread, here is the extended cut of my film that i've been working on since spyfest: https://oncourse.iu.edu/access/content/user/mzwiesle/Ecclesiastes_dvxuser.mov

I premiered it Sunday night, we had 2 showings and there were about 70-80 people in each showing, so not too bad of a turnout for an 11.5 minute film. I'm releasing the DVD in about a week or two, so if you have any feedback, questions, or suggestions feel free to let me know. I won't be doing any reshoots but if you see any other changes I could make to make the film better don't hesitate to let me know. Thanks!

Great film.. a short film I actually managed to watch through.. finally.. :)

I have only one thing in mind that I noticed right away.. in the intro the man is shot first and then the woman...
then when the real scene happens it looks like he's aiming for the woman and shoots her first.. was kind of confusing..
but other than that.. I liked it.. looked really good..

yea..... that's one of the few things that I'm just hoping that people don't notice as much, ha. I don't know what I was thinking, but I should have had the lady shot first in the opening scene, because in reality she would have been the first person shot since he thought that was the main target. And if I showed him in the gun viewfinder it would have been obvious that it wasn't the right guy, where as with the lady the hat and jacket combo pretty much covered up the identity. It wouldn't hurt to reshoot it, but among other things (don't have access to the location or crew anymore) I'm pretty exhausted from this project and am just going to learn from it and pay closer attention to those kind of details for my next short.

thanks for the feedback, i appreciate it!

oops sorry, yea the whole film was shot with a letus35a. that particular shot was with a 50mm lens probably at about 2.4 or so

AMERICA!!! F UCK YEAH!! (sarcasm)

This was a fantastic film, Chris! Easily one of the best I've seen from dvxuser, and no doubt one of my favorites now. A political drama with a bit of spy/hitman essence thrown in. I'm curious as to how you came up with the idea for this film and what motivated it, politically.

Now, for some notes on the film: The cinematography was EXCELLENT. Great lighting/exposure, composition, colors, and especially the handheld work. It felt very appropriate for a film like this. The acting as a whole was very good. Great job directing! I thought the part of Robin Nole was played a little weaker than the others as her deliveries were fairly stiff. I saw great sorrow in her eyes during the hotel room scene, but other than that, it needed work. The music was good, but something about the higher piano notes threw me off a little while Robin rode in the car. It seemed to detract from the picture/story just slightly. The music in the hotel was great though.
I'd say that the highlights are the cinematography, editing, foley/special sound, and the story in general. Fantastic work!
