It's been a while since I've posted here, I've been on the HV20 forum the last few years.
Anyway, I now own a Canon XHA1 and shoot primarily surfing with it. It's an awesome camera for what I do, since it has pretty good zoom, and great manual control. However, sometimes I find myself needing even more zoom, while filming at breaks that are farther off shore for example, and really would love to get a telephoto adapter.
The problem is, I am now a college student and have very little money to spend on anything but the necessities.
I had a merkury telephoto lens that I bought off ebay for $50 for my HV30 and it did the job but left a good amount of vignetting in most of the shots unless I was at 100% zoom, where it would then start to get blurry and lots of chromatic aberration.
Basically to say it in short, what I'm looking for in an inexpensive 2x or greater telephoto lens for my XHA1 that will produce useable results.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do, or does anyone know of any specific ebay lenses that are better than others? Or should I just save my money unless I am going to buy a century lens or something that has been proven to perform well?
